Commenting on the Croatian accession negotiations, Gunnar Hökmark MEP, Vice-Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament and Chairman of the Delegation to the EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee, and Mário David MEP, Vice-President of the European People's Party, said: "We welcome the positive result of the referendum in Slovenia on the Arbitration Agreement with Croatia.

The European vocation of the Slovenian people and their willingness to build, together with neighbouring Croatia, a common European future has never been in doubt.

We call for full support for Croatia in its efforts aimed at concluding accession negotiations and joining the European Union. In this sense, we expect a successful EU-Croatia Inter-Governmental Conference in June and the opening of the three remaining chapters in Croatia's accession negotiations."
